The Next Steps Series Solo Projects Stage 5 (2009)

Already back in 2006 the idea emerged to add the “third dimension” to my musical projects: why not go YouTube? I already had the ability to video tape live studio recordings and, just for fun, I tried out a few takes. It’s an easy way to communicate my musical idea’s further than by mere audio recordings and it actually “proves” that all sounds and imprivisations are actually produced through one magnificent key board, the Roland RD700.
However, other projects delayed this idea. I was very busy with writing manuscripts and other creative activities but not only that, I wanted to do it right! So I recorded a few more tracks in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and prepared the formal release of my YouTube Project under the YouTube account name “NextStepsProjects”. Thanks to post-production video editing assistance by Arian Dams from Veldhoven the results are satisfactory at this point. But, who am I to judge? Take a peak yourself!
So, here they are, to start with, 30 or so video tracks from both live studio recordings as well as from the solo acoustic piano concerts I gave back in 2007. All tracks are linked to the appropriate YouTube web address You may want to use this website as direct interlink or go to the YouTube website, search for NextStepsProjects or bartflos and take it from there. Please note the following:
1. This is a pre-release of my YouTube Project: not all tracks have been recorded and/or released yet. Stay tuned!
2. All songs are labeled with YTR999 designations (YouTube Tracks) and, of course, song names. Where applicable, styles and instruments are added.
3. New video tracks will be recorded and/or released as time progresses. I have lots of idea’s for new music and I will be producing them live in my studio for you to enjoy.

Please also note:
All compositions on video are real time pre-mixed ‘live’ studio recordings. No overdubs, no post-mixing, no digital editing in audio or video of any kind. All tracks are recorded simultaneously: “What you hear is how it’s been played“.
All sounds are produced through one central MIDI key board, the magnificent Roland RD700, augmented with various expansion boards and an additional external rythm processor, the BOSS DR-3.
Although some instruments may appear acoustic, alle sounds are digital in nature. All tracks are recorded by means of integrated external video microphones; this may effect optimal sound recording.
